Nordic Sweater Quilt Pattern release

I am very excited to announce the release of my new pattern:

Nordic Sweater Quilt!

If you love your 1/2 square triangles and have that fabric that is just TOO Pretty to Cut Into then THIS is the pattern for you!! 

 It uses LARGE pieces of your favorite fabrics.

Please note NOT suitable for directional fabrics. 
Another hint - the 'light' fabric can't be BUSY.  Here is my example of what NOT to DO.

The Snowman fabric was a bad choice as it was FAR too BUSY.  The design of the pattern got lost in the fabric choice.

I also used a directional fabric which you can get away with in the baby size BUT could only use 1/2 of my 1/2 square triangles with the snowman fabric to keep the direction correct - so I saved the others for another quilt.

iHeart for Mom ;)

Here's a very traditional look made from my iHeart Quilt pattern.  

I made this for my Mom.  

She LOVES pink and flowers so this fabric was just right for her.

The machine quilting was lovingly done by my dear friend 

Lisa Teichmann over at Garden Gate Quilting!  

 

Lisa filled my Mom's quilt with even more love with all to the free hand hearts!!  Beautiful, just beautiful! 

I handed this quilt over to Lisa and said 'do what you think' 

and the quilt was returned to me with the beautiful quilting. 

(Unfortunately I washed the quilt before taking pictures)

I LOVE the quilting and so does Mom!

This quilt measures 72"x72" - the largest size for the pattern.

I used cotton for the front and flannel for the backing as Mom's always cold and I wanted the quilt to be a BIG surrounding HUG!

1/2 Square Triangle Tutorial :)

Shortcuts, Tips, and Tools!!

for making your ½ Square Triangles.

Using Bloc_Loc Rulers allows you to be consistently accurate which will save you time and energy.  You do need to add a little extra fabric to your estimates but it is worth the time you save!


Below you will find 2 ways to Shortcut making your 1/2 Square Triangles.
