I...Hi Marie - You've really done your homework! I'm so glad that you stitched through two practice quilts and diagnosed and repaired your own thread issue. That's a great start!<br /><br />So I have to ask - are you using cotton thread?<br /><br />To answer your question - I always quilt with Isacord Polyester thread, and I use a Universal 80/12 needle.
